9th CONFERENCE ON SOLID STATE CHEMISTRY
Solid State Chemistry 2010 (SSC2010) will be held in September 10 to 15, 2010 in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. Since 2000 the conference is held biennially (2000 and 2004 in Prague, 2002 and 2008 in Bratislava, 2006 in Pardubice). Usually the meetings have had 180-250 participants from at least three continents.
The conference fee in SSC2010 will be about 400 EUR (full fee) and there will be some reduced fees, e.g., for students and for ‘one-day participants’. The full and student fees will also cover lunches at the conference venue, welcome party and a social event. Actual registration fees of different classes will be available at the end of 2009. A sufficient offer of hostels and hotels at or close to the conference venue will be available assuming the reservation will be done reasonably in advance; estimated price could be 60-100 and 150-170 EUR per day, respectively. In Prague, September is close to the end of a high season, usually with a very pleasant sunny weather with about 15 °C day temperature.
The meeting will take part in a well-equipped modern conference facility in Prague-Dejvice with capacity of about 300 participants. Prague has an international airport. The conference venue is well accessible from that airport as well as from international bus and train stations in the city.
SSC2010 will last 5 days including a weekend. The International Advisory Board will perform peer-review of the abstracts of proposed contributions to select the form of presentations, because we aim to guarantee a high level of all oral contributions and consistency of the sessions. If we receive a sufficient number of contributions focused on a single highly topical branch of solid state chemistry yet not included in the list of sections, we could establish an additional programme section. Lectures will be held in one or two parallel sessions; we will do our best to avoid overlaps of closely related topics.
Czech Republic is a part of European Union. Travel visa are required for participants from certain countries, to whom we recommend to consult the nearest Czech Embassy well in advance to manage the needed administration. Organizers will send (on request) a letter confirming the intention of participants to take part in the conference assuming the participants will be registered and keep regular contact with the Organizing Committee.
